Questions

How does it decide what I can make?

Each recipe line is matched against your bar. A specific bottle counts for the general kind of spirit (a London dry gin works wherever gin is asked for), and some recipes accept a stand-in, like Angostura in a Sazerac. Bottles you've marked empty don't count. Kitchen items like citrus, sugar and soda count when they're switched on in My bar.

Why is a drink "one bottle away" when I think I can make it?

Open the recipe: every ingredient shows what it's matched to, or what's missing. Often it's a kitchen item that's switched off in My bar, or a bottle marked empty. If the match still looks wrong, send feedback from that recipe page.

Why are the cl amounts rounded the way they are?

The app uses bar-standard conversions rather than exact math, the way bartenders measure with jiggers: 1 oz is 3 cl, ¾ oz is 2 cl, ½ oz is 1.5 cl. Switch between oz and cl on any recipe or in Settings.

What does "Grocery" or "liquor store" mean?

It's where you can buy the missing item in your country. Set your country in Settings so the liquor store gets its local name, like Systembolaget or Vinmonopolet.

Can I make a drink for more people?

Yes. Use the servings counter on a recipe and every amount scales, in oz or cl.

Will my bar move to a new phone?

Yes. In Settings, tap Back up my bar and save the file somewhere you'll find it, like iCloud Drive or an email to yourself. On the new phone, tap Restore from a backup and pick that file. Your bottles, kitchen items, ratings and shopping list come back. Setting up a new iPhone from a full backup of the old one also brings everything along.

Does the app collect my data?

No. Everything stays on your phone, apart from feedback you choose to send and photos you choose to scan. See the privacy page.
